You can book routine appointments several weeks in advance by phone or in person or online via the practice website.
Appointments are 10 minutes long, however if you feel you need longer, please tell the receptionist when you book.
If you feel your problem cannot wait and you feel your medical problem needs to be dealt with the same day, please inform the reception team when making your appointment. Each day we have a number of urgent appointments available and demand for these appointments can be very high especially during the winter and on Monday mornings. Please use this service responsibly.
The practice now operates a robust telephone triage service. This service is for patients who feel they have an urgent medical need for that day. Your call will be taken by our reception team who will ask for a brief description of your symptoms. This is so the clinical triage team can prioritise your call. We aim to call patients back within a 4 hour timeframe. We will attempt to call patients back once. It is the patients responsibility to ensure they have access to the telephone number they have requested a call back on. During your telephone consultation, you will agree with your clinician the best pathway of care for your symptoms.
Remember local pharmacists are trained to give advice and treat many minor conditions such as coughs, colds and sore throats.
Home visits are strictly for people too ill to get to the surgery or for housebound patients.
If you require a home visit please telephone reception before 10am if possible. A doctor or our experienced Nurse Prescriber may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Surgery.
Save time, quick & easy to use and avoid busy phone lines. To access online appointment booking, just bring along some photo & address ID and ask our receptionists on how to register for EMIS ACCESS ONLINE.
Once registered you can start to use the system, easy to follow screens and prompts ensure it is simple for you to view, book or cancel appointments on-line whatever time of the day or night.
Up to 15% of patients who book an appointment then fail to turn up. This wastes doctors’ time and leads to longer times for other patients. Please tell us if you cannot make an appointment so the time can be used for someone else.
