APPOINTMENTS

When a patient needs a routine appointment please ring 01226 725555 preferably not between 8am and 10am as the lines are usually extremely busy at this time. Appointments are made for both Rycroft and South Hiendley on this number.

URGENT AND EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS

When a patient needs an emergency appointment on a morning and there are no appointments left for that morning they will be asked to come up to the Surgery and will be given a sit & wait’ appointment, which basically means that they will be seen by the Doctor either at the end of Surgery or in between.

If a patient is requesting an emergency appointment in the afternoon, they will be put onto the Doctors list, whoever is on call that day, as an extra and will be seen at the end of Surgery.

Telephone advice is available from a Doctor at 3.30 to 4.00 four days a week.

CANCELLING APPOINTMENTS

Always let the Surgery know if you cannot attend your appointment by telephoning 01226 725555.

DISABLED ACCESS

The surgery is well equipped for disabled patients. The Surgery comprises of automatic doors, wide corridors and plenty of room in the waiting room for wheelchairs and a disabled toilet.

BLIND PATIENTS

The toilets have Braille signs on them. Also, on request, we can obtain practice leaflets in Braille. although we do not stock these unless requested.

DEAF PATIENTS

The reception at our Surgery is fitted with a loop, which is a devise that helps people who have a hearing difficulty hear more loudly and clearly. Any patient requiring an interpreter should make this request when booking their appointment with the receptionist.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

The Surgery has easy access into the premises for anyone who is in a wheel-chair. The doors at the entrance of the building are automatic. There is plenty of room in the waiting room for a wheel chair to be placed and also easy access to all Doctors rooms etc.

MOBILE PHONE POLICY

We operate a low tolerance for mobile phone use, please do not use them within the Surgery building but if you must, please leave the waiting room when taking a call.

PARKING & BUS ROUTES

Parking is available in the surgery grounds. A bus is available to bring patients to the surgery, for a small charge. The service is available to anyone living in Ryhill, Havercroft or South Hiendley and can be arranged through Reception at Rycroft. You will be collected from your door and after your appointment taken back to your door.

COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS & COMPLAINTS

We have a strict system in place that deals with all patient complaints efficiently and quickly. The Practice Manager deals with any complaint that is received. Any comments and suggestions that a patient may have can be written down and handed to a Receptionist, who will then hand this to the Practice Manager for her consideration and attention.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Patients can expect that their confidentiality throughout this Surgery will be maintained and that information about them will not be released to others without their consent. The only exception to this is under very exceptional circumstances when withholding information could cause harm to public interests and may put others at risk.

NEW PATIENTS

When a new patient attends the Surgery they, before seeing a Doctor must first make an appointment with a Practice Nurse to have a new patient screening. A registration form has to be completed as well, which should be handed to the patient before they attend for their screening if possible.
